Closest I’m Gonna Get For a While…
October 28, 2007
A beautiful picture of the Eiffel Tower taken by my good friend Kari Ann while on her European vacation. It’s been too many years since I’ve seen this spectacular structure…which I immediately fell in love with. And for those of you who know the story…a good reminder and laugh!! I can’t think of a better symbol of change, though.

Kelli & Andrew in Front of Store
Stopped in to see everyone at Amai yesterday and CONGRATULATE them on making it to Opening Day! I know it’s been a long, exhausting road for Kelli and Andrew…but the store looks fabulous and so does all of the baked goods. It was a special day for me, as well; although, I no longer officially work there, I felt very proud to be a part of all of this over the past year. And from someone who has dreams of opening her own bakery one day, it was a thrill to see a friend be able to realize her dream after so much hard work. I really do admire the sheer commitment Kelli has for her business and Andrew has for Kelli. They have dedicated everything to make this a reality, and they have succeeded as a team. I sincerely wish them the best. Now…I’ll let you take a peak at how everything looked.

AMAI OPENING
October 21, 2007
The BIG day has finally come for Amai…the Tea & Bake House will open it’s doors tomorrow! Although, I have stepped down as CBO, I am so thrilled for Kelli, Andrew and the rest of the Amai gang. It has been a pleasure working with Kelli over the past year, and I am so happy that I was able to be a part of it’s early days. Now, I’m excited to watch her dream and vision continue to flourish in it’s new home.
I had the chance to stop by last week and sit in on the barista training (just in case I need to help out a bit in exchange for a bottomless cup of coffee), sample the yummy baked goods, and taste the wonderful coffee. The shop has come together beautifully, and I can’t wait to see it tomorrow in full swing!
I’ll definitely post more about the opening this week and, hopefully, have some pictures to go along. If you’re in the area, please stop by.
BEST OF LUCK KELLI!!

MIDLAND…Really?
October 16, 2007
So, I took this quiz after seeing it over on One Good Bumblebee and am quite surprised by the results. Apparently, based on the questions, I have a Midland accent. Which for all of you who know me…is really hard to believe. My accent is always topic of conversation in every place that I live outside of the South. The only part of my accent that may be a bit questionable is ‘which state in the South am I from’. Although, I recently had a handful of people ask me if I was from Australia. No, seriously…I did! And I had to reply, “sorry, Alabama not Australia.” It was a nice thought for the moment…
Take a few minutes and check out the quiz for yourself…it really is fun, kind of a brain-tease! And then let me know what your outcome is.

Your Result: The Midland
“You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. |

Still Alive!!
October 14, 2007
Hello everyone…or anyone who may still be checking in on One Sweet World! I’m so sorry it’s been months since I have posted anything, but I wanted to let you know that I’m still here and will be trying my best to get back on track. In short, life just continues to keep me busy - work has picked up, running has slowed down, business ideas have become a priority, and sleep has been elusive. But there is not a single day that goes by that I don’t think about this silly blog and hate that I can’t muster up the energy to write. So, here is to a fresh start to mark the change in seasons and the beginning of my 29th year….
